well, OK, I'm aware of the possibility, but (a ) there is NO mention of this procedure in the service manual, and (b ) a couple pages specifically instruct you to NOT adjust certain screws and bolts on the throttle bodies, which are factory set. the mechanic I was talking to ( not a Honda tech, but a well-experienced guy) suggested I should balance the throttle bodies. I'm also a little bit concerned about the bluing of my number 4 exhaust pipe ( see: ), which I think indicates that cylinder is running a bit lean. My bike is getting into middle age now ( 110,000+ kms) and while I've had no engine problems and regular service and valve clearance has always been maintained, I wonder a bit about wear, so I intend to do a compression and leak-down test to check the 'state-of-the-art'.
